Joe grew up beneath the terra cotta towers of Louis Sullivan, the steel towers of Mies, and somewhat more at eye level amidst Wright’s prairie style homes. No one was too surprised when he shipped off Eastward to get his Bachelor of Architecture at Cornell University. After years in the big city, the sylvan hills of upstate New York left an impression on him and he headed West. Ten years later, Joe still misses the seasons but has enjoyed the opportunity to live in one of the world’s loveliest cities, designing and project managing homes and restaurants in and around the Bay Area. He tends to prefer sustainable design (he’s LEED-AP accredited), clean, modern lines and rich materials.
He’s had the opportunity to manage restaurant projects in recent years that have been published in Architectural Record, recognized with Hospitality Design and received AIA awards. He’s excited about recently joining the generous and talented folks at CCS, and looks forward to developing and delivering many successful and beautiful projects in the future. In his off time, Joe can be found exploring the wooded trails and hot springs of Northern California, enjoying the newest restaurants in San Francisco (though his wife Ana is certainly the best and most gorgeous cook he knows), or cozied up with that same page of late 20th century continental philosophy.
