Yu-Chen Chang-Senior Designer, Architecture 1

Yu-Chen Chang is a senior designer with experience in a range of project types. He joined Cass Calder Smith in 2019 after working for several years in New York.

Yu-Chen was born and grew up in Taiwan. Having an Asian cultural background gives him a unique enthusiasm and he is excited to bring it to Cass Calder Smith. Whether for public or private clients, Yu-Chen believes architecture should be simple, timeless, and meaningful.

When studying for his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in Tunghai University in Taiwan, Yu-Chen learned and practiced a lot of hand drawing. He brought his passion of drawing with him while studying architecture in United States. He enjoyed merging his hand drawings into digital renderings, and became fascinated with how these things connect together to impact the design study. Yu-Chen received his Master's Degree of Architecture from the University of Michigan in 2010.

Prior to joining Cass Calder Smith, Yu-Chen worked for a number of Asia-based projects, acquiring a wide design experience covering office, housing, hotel, and mixed-use development.
